Our goal is to target school age girls with an informational comic strip in the hygiene kit that aims to educate the girl about what her menstrual cycle is and normalize it!

Considerations when designing the comic strip:

• Most school age girls in rural Sub-saharan Africa don’t know what menstruation is until they get their first cycle

• Comic strip is primarily illustrations so that it is more accessible despite the language barrier

• The comic strip must be culturally relevant so the girls know it’s applicable to them; don't "Westernize" it!

• Make the comic strip similar to infographics we see on social media, but obviously more accessible because they will be printed and included in the menstrual kits
